In honor of my favorite season (fall) I have made a special post about prepping for the autumn weather. My sister-in-law gave me a blanket scarf a few weeks ago and I admit that I was a little intimidated to use the blanket scarf. Another one of my sisters-in-law who, is usually the trend starter of the family, bought one a few years ago and looks so fabulous, but I never felt like I could “pull one off”. I am pretty self-conscious because I don’t have the “ideal” body type, but after a bunch of tries, I found some cute and fun ways to style my scarf. I dug in my closet for a couple of items that I could use to demonstrate some of the ways to style a blanket scarf for an exciting fall. I was a little scared to take pictures of myself modeling the scarves, but I feel like they turned out well enough to display.
The first one is just making a triangle with the scarf and wrapping it once around your neck. Don’t be intimidated by the bulk of the scarf. It looks way cooler than I even thought for myself.
2. Tied on one shoulder
This was one that was way cuter than I thought it would be. I loved it and can actually see myself working this look. I am not the slimmest person in the world and anything that helps me feel fabulous is always a plus.
3. Wrapped toga style
This is similar to the one before, but without a knot on top.
4. Belted poncho
I used two different scarves to demonstrate this one because I liked it so much. It was so comfortable and cute. I can’t wait to actually go out like this!
5. Tied around the shoulders
This one was so easy. It left my arms and hands completely free, but also will clearly keep me warm and comfy with my scarf around my shoulders. This one I folded the scarf in a triangle and put the triangle part on my back/shoulders then wrap the corners under the back part. You can even tie the ends in the back to make sure that they do not fall out.
6. Over the shoulder poncho style
Similar to the belted style-but without the belt. This one is fun for an even more relaxed feel than the belted
7. Inside out
This one starts out with the scarf folded into a triangle with the triangle in front of the body. Then you wrap the two ends around your neck and then tuck the ends inside the front of the scarf
8. Over the head and over the shoulder
This is a bit more exotic looking, it will keep you so warm and cozy. Plus it is is super cute and feminine.
9. Wrapped crossed around the body
I put this one around my shoulders and wrapped it across my body and tied the ends in the back. This frees up the arms and adds additional mobility. The fringe added another bit of cuteness.
10. Boy scout
This one is incredibly simple. I just put the scarf in a triangle shape and put it around my shoulders and tied it in front. This is an all-day look.
10 a. Boys scout twisted version
Again, this is similar to the previous one but instead of being tied at the top of the scarf it is tied at bottom after having been twisted to the bottom.
11. Wrapped around the body then crossed in front
This one I wrapped around my body and tied in the back. It was so comfortable and so easy to do.
